This project involves remodeling a 1968-built home (1,728 sqft) situated on a scenic 1.58-acre plot.
The clients, a mature couple, envision a home tailored to their lifestyle, which includes working on personal projects, gardening, and
spending time with their dogs. Their priorities include:
- Connection to the Outdoors: Maximizing views, natural light, and access to the surrounding landscape.
- Quiet and Versatility: Blending open-concept living areas with "escape rooms" for privacy and quiet time.
After a detailed site analysis, including a solar study, the architect reimagined the layout by repositioning the social and private areas.
This strategic decision enhanced thermal comfort, maximized natural light, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor connection.
The design concept emphasizes creating a refined, serene home with a timeless and functional aesthetic.
Key design principles include:
- A Neutral and Cohesive Color Palette: to maintain brightness and openness while fostering a calm and elegant atmosphere.
- Natural Materials: integrating elements that resonate with the surrounding environment for warmth and authenticity.
