This project involves renovating a master bathroom with the following requirements:  Create a modern, spa-like atmosphere with a light color palette while preserving the existing windows. The current bathroom cabinetry, which serves as closet space, will be reconfigured, and the bathtub will be removed.

The existing space features a prominent skylight, which has been incorporated as a central scenic element in the proposed solutions. We have developed layouts that ensure independent access to closet and storage areas, even while the bathroom is in use.  We have designed three distinct options for this renovation:

Option 1:

This layout features a vestibule/walk-in closet with two sliding doors, allowing separation between the closet and bathroom areas when desired. All millwork is proposed in white oak. The bathroom includes a spacious two-shower area with niches, a fixed bench, and a double sink made of a natural stone. A planter under the skylight introduces color and nature into the room. The wet area is finished with light green tiles arranged in a herringbone pattern.

Option 2:

This option also includes a vestibule/walk-in closet with two sliding doors at the entrance, enabling it to be closed off from either side of the bathroom. The design utilizes white oak millwork throughout. The shower is placed under the skylight to maximize natural light, enhancing user well-being. A planter within the shower area contributes to the natural ambiance, and storage for toiletries is integrated under the planter and on the shower wall. The end wall features a double sink vanity with an adjacent make-up area positioned in front of the window for optimal natural light. A recessed make-up mirror adds convenience. Travertine stone lends a luxurious touch to this bathroom.

Option 3:

In this layout, the architects opted for an open plan. Storage space replaces a wall, and doors are positioned on both sides of the furniture, providing access from inside and outside the bathroom. A continuous vanity traverses the space, creating a sense of fluidity. The shower, located between the sinks, serves as an invisible divider and is also placed under the skylight to benefit from natural light. A planter within the shower area brings nature indoors, complemented by a wooden bench beneath it. Additional storage is integrated into the end wall. White oak millwork is proposed throughout, while marble and limestone in similar shades enhance the room’s spaciousness.
